Camorra top boss Lago arrested near Naples

Naples, February 7 - Naples police arrested one of the city's alleged top mafia bosses Pietro Lago in a dawn raid Thursday in the nearby city of Caserta. The 62-year-old was arrested for a murder allegedly committed 19 years ago in a battle between clans for supremacy in the area. According to police sources, Lago was probably one of the few old-style Camorra "godfathers" to survive the splintering of the organization years back. Investigations have traced an alliance between the Lago, Casalesi and Bidognetti Camorra clans, who allegedly swap hitmen.
