European markets advance on positive U.S. payroll data

Milan, February 1 - Markets advanced across Europe on Friday, paced by Milan's FTSE MIB index, amid optimism on the back of positive US payrolls data. The US economy added 157,000 payrolls in January, according to Labour Department figures released on Friday. Italy's FTSE MIB index gained 0.7% to 15,318 points. The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the German benchmark debt, a barometer of Italy's borrowing costs in the eurozone crisis, closed at 266 points with 10-year yields at 4.3%. The Frankfurt Dax bourse advanced 0.7% to 7,833 points, while the Paris Cac 40 Index increased 1.1% to 3,773 points. London's Ftse-100 stock market advanced 1.1% to 6,347 points. Madrid's Ibex index bucked the trend, dropping 1.6% to 8,229 points.
