Homeless man found dead in Naples

Naples, January 22 - Forensic experts were called in to identify the body of a homeless man found dead in central Naples on Tuesday morning under the indifferent gaze of passers-by and habitues of a nearby cafe'. The man, thought to be aged between 50 and 60, was found wrapped in blankets beneath the colonnade of the elegant glass-roofed Galleria Umberto shopping arcade opposite the southern Italian city's famed San Carlo opera house. Homeless people have recently been sheltering in the Galleria, which is also one of Naples' landmarks, police said. The man's death was reported by another homeless person who had been sleeping nearby. The cause of death was unclear.
