'Fiat not closing any plants in Europe' says Marchionne

Milan, January 16 - Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne gave a definitive 'no' on Thursday when asked if the Turin-based carmaker intended to close plants in Europe. "Fiat no," he said, referring to other carmakers such as Peugeot who are downsizing amid a slumping European market. "In the midst of this (closing) spree, we're the only ones who are definitely not closing plants," he added.
