Bari, January 8 - Italy's center-left Democratic Party (PD) received a blow Tuesday when its secretary in the southern Puglia region quit over the party's electoral lists. Sergio Blasi said he was resigning "in full and absolute disagreement with the national leadership of the Democratic Party for betraying the spirit of the primary". He accused the party of stacking the lists for his region with "immigrants from the north". PD leadership received Blasi's letter early Tuesday morning as party officials were finalizing their national electoral lists.
