Kidnap victim Calevo embraced by employees at work

La Spezia, January 2 - Andrea Calevo was embraced by happy employees as the young businessman, held for two weeks by kidnappers, returned to work on Wednesday. "Today is an important day for me, I could not wait to return to work," he said outside the well-known construction firm founded by his grandfather in the town of Arcola. "I need to rearrange ideas, it will take time," he added, as he entered the firm he has led since 2005. "I think the best thing for me is to forget". Police said Wednesday they found at least two weapons, including a modified Glock pistol and a sawed-off shotgun, in the basement room where they rescued Calevo on New Year's Eve. Earlier in the day, police arrested a fourth man on suspicion of involvement in the kidnapping of Calevo, who was abducted from his home in the northwestern coastal town of Lerici on December 16. Police, who said they are checking the weapons for fingerprints, say that at least seven people participated in the kidnapping and that a total 20 suspects are being investigated. Calevo, 31, was freed by police Monday from the basement of a home belonging to one of the kidnappers in the town of Sarzana near La Spezia where he was being held. Police said that when they rescued Calevo, he was positioned in a corner of a windowless basement with his legs and arms bound. Calevo reportedly said "thank you" to his rescuers before bursting into tears. Now, he says he just wants to get back to his normal routine. "(I want to ) go back to work, because this really gives me a sense of normalcy". The entrepreneur told police that he was not sure he would be able to identify the kidnappers because he had been blindfolded the entire time. "I was scared. Sometimes I heard strange movements, water running, a table move and a dog," Calevo told police.
