Soccer: Lippi says may be offered China job

Rome, January 2 - Marcello Lippi has said he may be offered the job of running the Chinese national team. Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning coach has been working in China since May when he took the helm of Guangzhou Evergrande, who he led to the 2012 Chinese League-Cup double. "I think that they are considering putting me in charge of the national team in China," Lippi told Sky television. "Why not?" he added when asked if he would be interested in the job. Lippi, 64, said he would not return to coach in Italy as he is too strongly identified as a "Juventus man". He led the Turin side to five Serie A titles and a Champions League crown during two stints in charge between 1994 and 2004.
