Fireworks 'delivery boy' caught by police in Rome

Rome, December 31 - Police in the Roman neighborhood of Monteverde said that they nabbed a 55-year-old 'delivery boy' taking fireworks orders by phone and offering door-to-door service. The man, selling a wide variety of illegal fireworks that he purchased in the southern city of Naples, was caught by police with 150 kilograms of pyrotechnical paraphernalia in the trunk of his car. Many Italians celebrate New Year's Eve by setting off powerful and often illegal fireworks. The annual mayhem regularly results in burns and mutilations.
