Vandals at Termini, Tiburtina evacuated after technical fault

Gremlins hit Rome metro again

Rome, December 21 - Gremlins hit the Rome metro twice on Friday, forcing the second evacuation in eight days. First vandals broke an emergency switch at Termini station, causing long delays on the B line, and then a technical fault caused the evacuation of the Tiburtina station on the same line. Some people were said to have remained on board a train stuck on the line. On December 13 a station on the A line was evacuated after a damaged train caused back-ups in the tunnel and some passengers suffered panic attacks.
