Berlusconi tells Porta a Porta TV show that he may run again

Rome, December 18 - Ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi said during the recording of the TV talk show Porta a Porta Tuesday that Italy needs him. "I will not refrain when I feel the need to render assistance to those in need". Berlusconi told Bruno Vespa, the host of the popular late-night show, that he has been under "great pressure" to run again. "There has been an increase in unemployment by 3 million people...we may end up like Greece, which is almost in a civil war," Berlusconi said. The media magnate has repeatedly changed his position to stand for a fourth term as Italian premier or not. On Friday Berlusconi said in an interview on one of his three TV channels that he would remain open to running until Premier Mario Monti's "decision to run or not is announced".
