Police seek Italian actor in crackdown on drug operation

Trapani, December 17 - A young Italian actor is being sought by police as part of a crackdown on a drug operation in southern Italy, authorities said Monday. The hunt is on for Palermo-born Francesco Casisa, 25, who made his film debut in the 2002 movie Respiro, starring Valeria Golino, and also appeared in a 2004 television miniseries about anti-Mafia prosecutor Paolo Borsellino, slain by Cosa Nostra in 1992. Casisa, who is believed to be in Paris with his movie-making girlfriend, had previously been convicted of drug and robbery offences. The police operation, dubbed Bronx 2, was targeting a ring of hash and cocaine trafficking in a network of towns around Trapani on the west coast of Sicily.
