Milan, November 14 - Italy coach Gian Piero Ventura apologised to the Italian people after his side's shock failure to qualify for the World Cup. "I feel I should say sorry to the Italian people for the result, not for the commitment," he said. "But I know that it's the result that counts". Ventura said he was considering his position when asked why he had not quit. "I have not resigned because I have not spoken to the (Italian Soccer Federation) President," he said. "There are lots of things to consider. I have to speak to the federation".
