Rome metro stop evacuated after train gets stuck in tunnel

Rome, December 13 - A Rome metro station was evacuated Thursday after a damaged train caused back-ups in the tunnel and some passengers suffered panic attacks. A fire brigade intervened on the spot of the Piazza Vittorio station after a passenger waiting in the station called to alert authorities he smelled smoke. Shortly afterwards, the fire brigade, police and a few ambulances arrived. The station, on Rome's A line, was evacuated. No injuries were reported.
