35 mln euros seized from Camorra-linked businessmen

Caserta, December 13 - Italian police on Thursday seized 35 million euros in assets from two businessmen in Caserta near Naples linked to the Neapolitan Camorra mafia. Police said the brothers held a "monopoly" over local road haulage because of "protection" from the Mob. The pair were said to be linked to the Casalesi clan, whose death threats have forced writer Roberto Saviano into round-the-clock police protection.
