Soccer: Maldini, van Basten, Trap to join Hall of Fame

Rome, December 12 - Former AC Milan greats Paolo Maldini and Marco van Basten and former Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni are set to be inducted into Italian soccer's Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Florence on Thursday. Ex-goalkeeper and former Italy boss Dino Zoff, who was the captain of the Azzurri's 1982 World Cup-winnng team, is set to join too. The Hall of Fame, which is located at the Soccer Museum at the national team's base at Coverciano near Florence, was set up last year to honour Italian football greats and the top foreign players and coaches who have graced Serie A. Existing members include players Roberto Baggio, Michel Platini and Gigi Riva, coaches Marcello Lippi and Arrigo Sacchi and referee Pierluigi Collina.
