Vatican City, December 12 - Pope Benedict XVI tweeted for the first time on Wednesday. "Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter," he said via his Twitter account, @Pontifex. "Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart". His second tweet, which came at close to 12:15 local time, some 43 minutes after the first, posed the question: "How can we celebrate the Year of Faith better in our daily lives?". Benedict's answer came in his third Twitter message. "By speaking with Jesus in prayer, listening to what he tells you in the Gospel and looking for him in those in need". Vatican radio, meanwhile, said the pope has over one million followers when the numbers from his accounts in eight different languages are added up, including 683,000 in English and 7,500 in Arabic.
