Milan bourse loses 0.9% with Monti govt in peril

Milan, December 7 - The Milan stock exchange's FTSE Mib index lost 0.9% to drop to 15,699 points on Friday after Silvio Berlusconi's People of Freedom (PdL) party said it considered Premier Mario Monti's emergency government finished. The spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the German benchmark, a barometer of Italy's borrowing costs in the eurozone crisis, climbed to 336 at one stage on Friday before dropping back to close at 323 points with a yield of 4.5%. The spread closed at 327 points on Thursday.
