Mafia boss arrested in Bali

Palermo, December 7 - Police on Friday arrested a fugitive Mafia boss at his luxury villa on the Indonesian resort island of Bali. Italian police last month informed their Bali counterparts of the whereabouts of Antonino Vitale Messicati, 40, said to be an up-and-coming Cosa Nostra boss. They tracked him down after tapping relatives' phones and discovering that family members had booked a trip to Bali. Messicati, who escaped arrest in Italy in April, is wanted to serve a 10-year sentence for murder, extortion and drug trafficking.
