Turin side suffer second defeat of season after dubious penalty

Soccer: Juve still favourites after Milan loss, says Lippi

Milan, November 26 - Juventus remain favourites to win the Serie A title despite suffering their second defeat of the season when they lost 1-0 at AC Milan on Sunday, former Italy and Juve boss Marcello Lippi said on Monday. Milan, who have endured a difficult start to the season, were a little lucky as Robhino's winner came courtesy of a penalty awarded for a non-existent handball. Nevertheless, the hosts were good value for the three points as they were the more determined of the two sides and some pundits have suggested the defeat is an alarm bell for reigning champions Juve. The Turin side remain top with 32 points from 14 games, although Inter Milan can cut the advantage to one point if they win at Parma late on Monday. Milan are eighth with 18 points. "Juventus are still the best team, although they will have to deal with a few slips," Lippi, who recently led Guangzhou Evergrande to the Chinese League-Cup double, said on Italian radio. Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning coach said Juve may be missing coach Antonio Conte's presence on the touchline. Conte is serving a four-month ban for failing to report a deal to fix a match during his time at former club Siena. The ban ends early next month.
