Police 'called in sick to work as radio DJ'

Cagliari, November 23 - An assistant police chief in the Sardinian city of Cagliari could be charged with fraud and forgery after investigations revealed that the officer may have taken frequent sick leave to work as a DJ. Prosecutors said on Friday that well-known DJ Max d'Agostino, whose real name is Marco Catta, allegedly gave himself sick leave during 2007 to host a noted radio program on a local station. Catta denied the charges, saying that all of the medical certificates he had presented were authentic and that his sick days do not correspond with radio show dates. Hearings are slated for April 13, 2013.
