Self-inflicted injury adds to Sardinia hunting accidents

Nuoro, November 16 - A man accidentally shot himself in the foot while out hunting in Sardinia's Nuoro province on Friday, taking to three the number of recent hunting-related accidents in this part of the island. The 50-year-old driver from Monserrato injured himself in the right foot during an expedition in the Atzara countryside. He had to be taken to hospital for medical treatment. On Tuesday night a 12-year-old boy died in hospital after accidentally being shot in the head by a retired Carabinieri police officer in Irgoli on Sunday. On Thursday morning a 62-year-old received bullet wounds to the face after his hunting partner shot him by mistake in Esporlatu. The man is now receiving hospital treatment in Nuoro.
