Rome, November 28 - A northern European cold front kicked up high winds and sent temperatures plunging in Italy on Monday. Gale force winds are expected late Monday evening across Campania and Sardinia, quickly moving southward to Basilicata and Calabria, and arriving in Sicily by Tuesday morning. Rough seas are expected along the southern coasts and light snow is predicted at hill-level altitudes, especially along the central Adriatic coast. Due to rising water on the Po River, a flood warning is in effect for Monday and Tuesday in Emilia Romagna for the lowlands of Piacenza-Parma, Modena-Reggio Emilia and Bologna-Ferrara; in Lombardy in the low eastern plain; and in southern Veneto.
