Govt puts judges-retirement bill to confidence vote (2)

Rome, October 19 - Reform and Relations with Parliament Minister Maria Elena Boschi announced in the Senate on Wednesday that the government has put its bill on improving the efficiency of Italian courts to a confidence vote. The bill includes a measure to delay retirement for top judges at the Audit Court, the Council of State, which deals with administrative justice, and the supreme Court of Cassation. Earlier on Wednesday the Senate rejecting four objections regarding whether the bill respects the Constitution.
