Rome, October 18 - The government's 2017 budget bill will include a reorganization of expiring frequency concessions, according to details of the Draft Budgetary Plan (DBP) released on Tuesday. The 900 and 1800 Mhz band spectrum rights, which were originally expiring on June 30, 2018, will all be maturing on December 31, 2029, with a transition to fifth-generation (5G) technology including a possible flat-rate prepayment under the Draft Budgetary Plan. Proceeds in 2017 have been estimated at 0.11% of GDP, or 1.8 billion euros.
