Soccer: Milan boss sees 'right spirit' in draw with Malaga

Milan, November 7 - AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said he saw the right spirit from his team after they salvaged a 1-1 draw with Malaga in the Champions League on Tuesday. The seven-time European champions have endured a tough start to the season. But they showed signs of improving by thrashing Chievo Verona 5-1 at the weekend and Allegri believes their recovery against the Spaniards is another sign they are returning to their old selves. "We have the right spirit to take into the next few games," Allegri said after Alexandre Pato's 73rd-minute header earned his side a draw following Eliseu's opener for Malaga in the first half. Milan are second in Champions League Group C with five points, five behind already-qualified Malaga and one ahead of third-placed Anderlecht, the Italian giants' next opponents. "Right now, seven or eight points would be enough to get through to the next round," said Allegri. "I spoke with (club owner Silvio) Berlusconi and he was happy with the team's performance. "We played with a young team that can do well this year and even better in the future". Milan are 10th in Serie A with 14 points from 11 games, 14 points behind leaders Juventus.
