Rome, November 5 - The House whip of the anti-graft Italy of Values (IdV) party resigned Monday after publicly speaking out against party leader Antonio Di Pietro. "Today I handed my resignation to House Speaker Gianfranco Fini," said Massimo Donadi, accusing Di Pietro of knowingly "scrapping" the party. Donadi had recently compared "the decline" of Di Pietro to that of former premier Silvio Berlusconi. A former Clean Hands magistrate, Di Pietro and his party are staunchly anti-Berlusconi. "He has betrayed his own history and in recent months has messed everything up," said Donadi.
