Italian consumer spending to fall 3.2% in 2012

Rome, November 5 - Consumer spending in recession-hit Italy is set to close the year 3.2% down on 2011 and fall a further 0.7% in 2013, Istat said on Monday. The national statistics agency said consumer spending is likely to stay on a downward trajectory because of "the persistent difficulties of the labour market" and weak rises in salaries.
