(ANSA) – Rome, November 2 – Rome prosecutors opened an investigation on Friday into possible irregularities into the management of public tenders and auctions in relation to the purchase of technological supplies after the interior ministry received an anonymous complaint. The news was initially reported by La Repubblica newspaper. The complaint was made up of some 20 pages of detailed information, according to the report. Rome’s chief prosecutor Giuseppe Pignatone has assigned the probe to a group of magistrates that specialize in investigating possible illicit activities in the public sector. The magistrates in question have initiated a preliminary investigation in the matter.
