Former Venice courthouse to become hotel

Venice, October 30 - Venice's former courthouse on the Grand Canal is set to become a 40-room hotel. Palazzo San Cassiano, which belonged to the city, was sold to a private investor for 9.6 million euros, the city's real-estate fund announced Tuesday. The space covers roughly 1,800 square meters spread over five floors. It was used as the city's primary courthouse until last November.
