Italy approves female quotas on State companies' boards

(ANSA) – Rome, October 26 – The Italian government on Friday approved measures setting quotas for the number of female directors that are to sit on the baords of State-owned companies and entities. Under the measure, companies would have to ensure that women make up at least one third of its board. The plan was approved at a cabinet meeting, after the proposals had been authorized by relevant parliamentary commissions.
