Singer may have died from very rare toxin

(ANSA) – Piacenza, October 24 - A northern Italian party-circuit dialect singer appears to have died from an extremely rare strain of the e. coli germ, traces of which have never before been found in Italy, according to her autopsy. Gianna Casella died after eating seafood at a Chinese-Japanese restaurant in the Emilia-Romagna town of Piacenza. The case is being investigated by the Higher Health Institute, which is trying to determine the origin of the deadly toxin. The restaurant has been closed down and its three owners are being investigated.
