Counterfeit shoe factory raided in Naples

Naples, October 23 - Police in the southern city of Naples on Tuesday discovered a clandestine factory producing counterfeit Hogan shoes and illegally employing 10 people, including two minors, a pregnant woman and a hearing impaired worker. Investigators said that the laborers earned a weekly wage of 100 euros for approximately 40 hours of work. The factory had a production capacity of 2,000 pairs of shoes per week, 6,000 other various counterfeit items and 60,000 articles needed for packaging the shoes and reproducing the Hogan brand label. Police confiscated 17 pieces of machinery and the factory owners have been reported to court authorities.
