Man threatening self-immolation restrained by police

(see previous) Cagliari, October 22 - A man who entered the state-run employment office in the Sardinian city of Cagliari Monday morning with a razor blade between his teeth and threatening to self immolate was restrained by police after hours of negotiations. Enrico Bernardi, 61, entered the office in the morning holding a petrol can and threatening to set himself on fire if more jobs were not made available. Bernardi told ANSA that if the positions being opened for applications October 23 were not modified, he would take drastic measures. After evacuating the office, police restrained Bernardi who is now undergoing medical examinations.
