(ANSA) - Rome, October 16 - Inter Milan forward Antonio Cassano has said he is bemused at being left out of the Italy squad but still hopes to play at the 2014 World Cup. Coach Cesare Prandelli has not selected the 30-year-old since the striker helped Italy reach the final of Euro 2012, even though he has been in good form after moving to Inter from city rivals AC Milan in the close season. "I don't know why I haven't been called up but I still hope to go to the World Cup," Cassano told Rai television. "If I don't it'll be the third World Cup I've missed. It's not a drama". Prandelli said Cassano's Italy career is not over but explained that he wants to select younger players to help them develop at the moment.
