Soccer: Conte assistant Alessio's match-fixing ban cut

(ANSA) - Rome, October 12 - Assistant Juventus coach Angelo Alessio had his match-fixing ban reduced from six months to four on appeal by an Italian Olympic Committee tribunal on Friday. His boss, Juve head coach Antonio Conte, had a 10-month ban reduced for four months last week. The pair were both banned for failing to report an agreement to fix a match while they were at Siena in the second tier in the 2010-11 campaign. Friday's decision means Alessio's ban will end next week. Conte's ban is set to end on December 8, so he will be able to return to the dugout for Juve's trip to Palermo the day after.
