(ANSA) - Rome, October 9 - The Italian government on Tuesday decided to dissolve the local government in Reggio Calabria for mafia infiltration, Interior Minister Annamaria Cancellieri announced. "We have the will to restore lawfulness to the city," said Cancellieri. "Without lawfulness there can be no growth. We have to help the regions that are most compromised". Reggio Calabria is the biggest city in the southern Calabria region. The Calabria-based 'Ndrangheta is now the most powerful mafia in Italy thanks to its hold on the European cocaine trade.
