Etna rumbles 'but won't erupt this time'

(ANSA) - Catania, October 5 - Etna has started rumbling again but experts said the volcano near the Sicilian city of Catania isn't likely to erupt this time. Activity has been registered since Wednesday in a recently opened crater, "accompanied by a slight increase in volcanic shaking," seismologists said Friday. Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano, has seen nine "eruptive events" this year but its last full-blown eruption came in January when it belched out a plume of smoke that caused the temporary closure of Catania Airport. Scientists at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology recorded 18 eruptions of Etna in 2011
