Police officer arrested for 'car insurance fraud'

(ANSA) - Catania, October 4 - A high-ranking police officer in the Sicilian city of Catania was arrested Thursday in connection with alleged car-insurance fraud. Chief Inspector Armando Corallo, 43, allegedly signed off on the theft of a BMW while knowing it had been simply sold and shipped to Morocco. Corallo and two others, including an ex-policeman, allegedly pocketed the insurance for the false theft.
