(ANSA) - Bolzano, October 1 - Stunned residents in Italy's Trentino Alto Adige region are scratching their skulls in shock after two snakes were snagged in succession while slithering along a stretch of highway in Val d'Ega. The two boa constrictors were each captured on subsequent Sundays on the same highway. One, said to be more than two meters in length, was spotted Sunday by a motorist who called for help. The snake was captured without difficulty and taken to a local animal shelter, where the other fugitive snake was being held. It's thought that the pair may have slunk away from a reptile enthusiast living somewhere in the region.
