(ANSA) - Milan, September 26 - Eleven people were injured on Wednesday when two trains collided on the Milan metro. Mayor Giuliano Pisapia said via Twitter that nine people suffered slight injuries while two others were taken to hospital for checks although their conditions were not thought to be serious. The accident took place between the Garibaldi and Gioia stations on Line 2 of the city metro. One of the trains was stationary while the other was travelling at around 14km/h, Pisapia said. The injured people reportedly included a train driver and a pregnant woman.
