(ANSA) - Modena, September 25 - Romanian police arrested five men and Italian police made two arrests on Tuesday in a coordinated operation investigating an international prostitution ring that covered Romania, Italy and France. Another 15 men were taken into custody. Probes by the joint operation called 'Bonito' have led to charges of exploitation and forced prostitution against five Tunisian men who police allege organzed the transfer and housing of women from Romania to the Emilian town of Modena and Paris. Police say that the ring assigned street areas to the women and took 50% of their earnings in return for room, board and "protection".
