Italy EU black sheep for air quality

(ANSA) - Rome, September 24 - Italy is the European Union's black sheep for clean air, the European Environmental Agency said Monday in its 2012 report. Italy exceeded limits more than other EU members for fine particles, ozone, carbon dioxide, nickel and bronze in 2001-2010, the EEA said. In 2010, it said, it was among those who "most often" breached restrictions dating back to 2005 on PM10 particles, along with Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Balkan states.
