More than 20% of Italian schools not safe, fewer secure

(ANSA) - Rome, September 20 - As many as one in five Italian schools aren't safe, and about one-third aren't secure, says a survey released Thursday. By studying a sample of 111 schools across Italy, the survey by Cittadinanzattiva - a non-profit organization that promotes citizens' rights - found that 20.7% of schools were not safe, while 36% lacked security. The "Report on safety, quality and comfort of school buildings" also found that 30% of schools surveyed didn't have a computer room.
