(ANSA) – Pescara, September 14 – The Pescara river in Abruzzo was at risk of bursting its banks on Friday after heavy rainfall caused the water level to rise. The local prefect's office, which is coordinating the emergency response, ordered local police and municipal authorities to close the north and south flood plains to traffic and remove parked vehicles in the area. Sources at Pescara town hall said the water level had already reached the quayside in some places.
