Two Italian art galleries closed in nationwide tax blitz

(ANSA) - Rome, September 13 - Twenty-four art galleries throughout the Italy are being probed and two have been temporarily closed in a nationwide blitz against tax evasion, finance police said on Thursday. Police investigations into money laundering and tax violations were carried out together with Siae, Italy's entertainment industry's copyright office. Investigators suspect that the probed art galleries and auction houses committed breaches totalling up to 19 million euros.
