(ANSA) - Valletta (Malta), September 12 - The death of the United States ambassador in Libya won't interfere with the political process there, Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi said Wednesday. "I have no doubt that this tragic episode will not interfere with the political process in Libya," he said during a visit to Malta, one day after Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed during protests at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. "The elections were a success for all," added Terzi, referring to Libya's first democratic elections in decades which were held in July. "With our partners we will continue to support the development the country, " added Terzi. The first session of Libya's National Congress, scheduled for Wednesday, was cancelled for security reasons.
