Shots fired in busy Milan street, no one hurt

(ANSA) - Milan, September 11 - Shots were fired in a busy Milan street Tuesday as the city was still in shock a day after a couple was gunned down in the city centre. The gunshots Tuesday were fired from a gray Audi A2 hatchback in the direction of a blue Ford Focus. No one was injured. Late Monday Massimiliano Spelta, a 43-year-old shopkeeper with no criminal record, and his 21-year-old Dominican partner Carolina Ortiz Paiano were killed by two gunmen who arrived at the scene on scooters, according to eye witnesses. The couple's two-year-old daughter, who was in her mother's arms as she was hit in the neck while trying to run away, suffered minor injuries.
