Spread tumbles on Draghi bond-buying plan

(ANSA) - Rome, September 7 - The spread between Italian and German 10-year bonds fell below the psychologically important 350-point mark Friday as markets reacted to European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi's announcement of an unlimited option to buy troubled eurozone economies' bonds. The spread, which had been above 500 points at the height of the euro crisis, fell to 349.2 points. The yield, which had flirted with an unsustainable 7% during thr worst of the crisis, was down to 5.067%.
