(ANSA) - Rome, September 6 - A drop in hotel stays was recorded for the first time in the history of Italian tourism, Italy's hoteliers association Federalberghi said on Thurdsay. A monthly report released for the period of August showed a 1.1% overall drop in room reservations throughout the country. Italians staying in hotels were down 3%, however there was an increase by 2.1% of foreigners booking accomodation in Italy, said Federalberghi President Bernabo Bocca.
