Tax offices in Sardinia robbed by masked gunmen

(ANSA) - Nuoro, September 4 - The offices of the Italian tax-collection agency Equitalia in Nuoro on the island of Sardinia were robbed by masked gunmen who made off with 32,000 euros Tuesday morning. Police said that two armed bandits wearing ski masks ambushed two employees in the parking garage of the Equitalia offices then forced them at gunpoint to open the safe once inside. Three staff members already in the building were also taken hostage at gunpoint before the robbers fled the scene. Two employees were taken to hospital and treated for shock but no one was injured. It is the second time the tax office has been hit this summer and the third in 2012.
